What to look for when booking your Wedding Accommodation
Wooo! You are getting married and you’re starting to think about wedding accommodation near your wedding venue. This task can be fun for some but daunting to others. So we have some quick and easy tips to help you shortlist accommodation options.
Booking for your Wedding Party
If you are booking for you and your entire wedding party to be situated in the same location (especially if you are having a destination wedding) these are a few things you need to consider:
Multiple bathrooms
Large living room with natural lighting - helpful when it comes to hair and makeup
Full length mirrors - well this is self explanatory
Air Conditioning/ heating - last thing you need is your makeup melting off your face or sweaty pits seeping through your white shirt
Enough beds/bedrooms - again, self explanatory
Large surface areas - for your makeup artists to spread out or even to have a buffet of food for your party making sure they’re fed and hydrated before the big day
Parking onsite - no one wants to be running around looking for parking or spending a bomb on parking tickets
Booking for just you two
Splurging a little more for the two of you is absolutely allowed. So here are some things you may want to consider when finding accom for you and your loved one.
Fireplace - creates a romantic mood especially if you’re getting hitched in winter or cooler locations
Big Ass Bed! - Spread out in a luxurious king size bed
Late check out - make sure to request a late check out, or even better, book an extra night to recover from your wedding night
Jacuzzi or spa bath for 2 - romantic way to spend the rest of your stay with some bubbles and a cheeseboard
Room with a view - come on - its your wedding night!! Find a place and spend an extra 100-200 and upgrade to a room with a view. Imagine sitting in your room or on the balcony enjoying the sunset with a gorgeous bottle of wine.
Pre-Post Wedding Celebrations
Some venues are large enough to host pre / post wedding celebrations. You may like to host a private dinner party out on the balcony the night before the wedding. Or even curing your hangover with a good old post-wedding day swim with a sizzling BBQ with your family and friends. What ever you choose to do, here are some must haves to ensure a seamless celebration:
Pool - can never go wrong with a good old pool
Large dining tables and entertainment areas - both indoor and outdoor
BBQ station - again no brainer
Large communal kitchen - to prepare for that hangover cure
Parking - again, the last thing you need is everyone running around looking for parking.
